"Renewal of the Word of God" by Daniel Mills

Ezra 7:10 – This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.

1. Study the Word of God

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Read the Word of God

1 Timothy 4:13 – Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.

Study the Word of God

Joshua 1:8 – Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Meditate on the Word of God

Psalm 1:2-3 – But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Memorize the Word of God

Psalm 119:11 – I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Psalm 119:16 – I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.

Pray the Word of God

Philippians 4:6-7 – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

2. Obey the Word of God

Nehemiah 9:38 – The people responded, “In view of all this, we are making a solemn promise and putting it in writing. On this sealed document are the names of our leaders and Levites and priests.”

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 – If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God

John 14:15 – If you love me, obey my commandments.

3. Teach the Word of God

Matthew 28:20 – Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 – And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

2 Timothy 2:1-2 – Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

4. Jesus is the Word of God

John 1:1-2 – In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 – So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Revelation 19:13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.
