"Brokenness to Blessing" // Pastor Daniel Mills

What if the very wounds you carry are the seeds of your greatest transformation? In this journey from brokenness to blessing, we will explore the profound truth that God doesn't waste our pain—instead, He weaves it into His beautiful plan for our lives.

We'll discover that true spiritual maturity is impossible without emotional health. To move forward, we must first look back, digging deep into our past to uncover and process the broken experiences that still hold us captive. This journey of healing isn't easy, but it's essential for breaking free from the bondages, addictions, and strongholds that have kept us from living fully in the way of Jesus.

We'll learn that by facing our brokenness, we allow God to transform it into a blessing, leading us into greater spiritual maturity and formation. This is more than just self-improvement—it's about becoming who God created you to be.

Are you ready to turn your pain into purpose? Join us as we take the first steps on this transformative journey.

"It’s impossible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature." –Pete Scazzero

Genesis 50:20 – You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

What if the wounds you carry are the seeds of your greatest transformation?

God doesn’t waste our pain; He weaves it into His plan for our lives.

Looking back and deep

Psalm 139:23-24 – Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

“Because so few people do the hard work of going back in order to go forward, the symptoms of a disconnected spirituality are everywhere.” –Pete Scazzero

Ephesians 4:31-32 – Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Matthew 11:28 – Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Breaking Bondages

Isaiah 61:1-2 – The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

John 8:36 – So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

“When we commit ourselves to the spiritual journey, the first thing the Spirt does is start removing the emotional junk of a lifetime that is inside of us.” -Thomas Keating

Psalm 147:3 – He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

Deny, Detach, Drug: three things we do to avoid dealing with our past

Transformative Experiences

2 Corinthians 12:7-9 – So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

2 Corinthians 12:10 – That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Finding Purpose in our Pain

Romans 8:28 – And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Romans 5:3-4 – We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
