The Way of Lament
Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 | 7:30 PM
Christmas is often a time of joy, but for some, it can be a season of sorrow, loneliness, and pain. If you’ve lost a loved one recently, are facing trials, or feel isolated this holiday season, we invite you to The Way of Lament, a special candlelight service designed to offer comfort, healing, and space for reflection in God’s presence.
A Journey of Healing and Reflection
Lament is a biblical practice that allows us to express our sorrow and grief, finding peace through God’s presence. At The Way of Lament, we will light candles as a symbol of hope in the midst of sorrow. This intimate service will include Scripture readings, songs of lament, prayer for healing, and moments of quiet reflection, all centered around the powerful symbol of candlelight. The flickering lights will remind us that God’s light is always present, offering comfort and healing to our souls. We will remember that even in the darkest times, God’s light shines and He is near to the brokenhearted.
This service is open to anyone who is grieving or struggling during the holiday season, whether you’ve recently experienced a loss, are going through a season of hardship, or are simply feeling the weight of loneliness during the holidays. There is no expectation to “feel better” by the end of the evening—it’s simply a time to pause, grieve, lament, and allow God to meet us in our pain.
