Frequently Asked Questions for Toronto Alliance Church

Frequently Asked Questions for Toronto Alliance Church's Community Outreach Night

When do we go down to TAC?

We go down 5 times every year and it is on the 4th Saturday during the months of January, March, May, September & November.

Who can serve at TAC?

We welcome anyone from Gr. 9 and older to come and serve at TAC.

How much time do I have to allocate if I would like to serve?

We usually meet at Unionville Alliance Church at 3:15 pm in front of the lower level doors for car pooling and generally finish serving around 7:30-8 pm. If you are staying for dinner afterwards, we leave downtown at around 9:30 pm.

Where can I park downtown?

  • Along Queen Street near TAC and pay with the Green P App or at the payment stations.
  • There is a Green P parking available at Augusta and Queen (4 blocks east of TAC).
  • For free on some of the side streets near TAC but can be hard to find.

How do I pack the sandwiches? Do I cut them?

After preparing the sandwiches, please do not cut them; just put them back in the bag that the sliced bread came in and label the bag with the type of sandwiches it contains. Do not wrap them individually unless you’ve signed up for individually wrapped sandwiches (we only need 4 loaves of individually wrapped sandwiches for those who would like bring them home).

Can I borrow one of your crockpots?

If you do not own a crockpot, we have a few crockpots that you can borrow if you are willing to provide soup.

How do I use the crockpot liner?

Please see the pictures below for how to make transporting and cleaning of crockpots easier. Reminder to please label the crockpot with the type of soup you are providing.

Do I need to worry about allergies when preparing the food?

No, there are no restrictions on what can be served at TAC. Just remember to label the bag of sandwiches and the crockpot.

Can I take pictures at TAC?

We ask that you please refrain from taking any pictures there in order to respect their privacy.
